Walborg Pearl Beauvais Evening Wristlet

Walborg Pearl Beauvais Evening Wristlet

$275.00Price
Hand made in Japan for the esteemed designer Walborg, this purse is covered with tiny white pearls combined with an abundance of Tambour embroidery, and a colorful profusion of Point de Beauvais stitches, all in superb condition. Beauvais beaded items are highlighted in an accessories story in the May 1955 issue of Handbags & Accessories. This style of tiny chain stitch silk embroidery, surrounded by equally minute alabaster beads had been done in Europe before WWII and it is likely these bags were imported from there. By the end of the decade, labor cost would shift this work to the Far East. The soft brushed bright gold tone kiss clasp frame boasts coordinated glass stones.

All areas of this purse are decorated, including the frame, and this purse is a perfect evening bag. The interior ivory satin lining has 2 pockets, a mirror, and the designer label.
